🔍 Previewing Your Updated Share Image

After updating, you can preview how your event link will appear on different platforms:

  • Facebook: Use the Facebook Sharing Debugger to see and refresh your link preview.

  • LinkedIn: Utilize the LinkedIn Post Inspector to view your updated link preview.

  • Twitter: Due to recent changes, Twitter may require you to tweet your event link to see the updated image.

Note: If the updated image doesn't appear immediately, the platform might be caching the old image. Using the provided tools can help refresh the preview.

When you send a link of your Happenly event, the share image and preview text is heavily cached by many apps. What that means is if you share the event once, the app will save the original image and text and continue to show that even if you have made changes.

Facebook and LinkedIn both offer a built in way to clear the cached image and text: developers.facebook.com/tools/debug or linkedin.com/post-inspector

Whatsapp also caches the image and you can clear it out by following these instructions: businessinsider.com/guides/tech/clear-whatsapp-cache

Apple requires that you clear your cache and cookies on all devices that have viewed the preview by following these steps: support.apple.com/guide/iphone/clear-your-cache-and-cookies-iphacc5f0202/ios

Clearing the cache is only needed if the person is seeing the old information. Anyone receiving the link for the first time will see all updated information.
